Charted at #1 in April 1921. Also #11 for Isham Jones during the same month and #12 for Lewis James and Elizabeth Spencer in June 1921. First introduced in the 1919 musical, "Zip Goes a Million" which was a flop. It was re-used in the musical "Sally" where it became popular as sung by Marilyn Miller. It later became a Judy Garland favorite, and she sang it in the movie "Till the Clouds Roll By" in which she played Marilyn. Written by Jerome Kern & Buddy DeSylva. The other side of the record is "I'm Gonna Do It If I Like It".
According to my research, and what I wrote in the description under the video, "Look for the Silver Lining" was introduced in the 1919 musical "Zip Goes a Million" which flopped. Since no one saw it, it was re-used in the musical, "Sally", starring Marilyn Miller, which was a big hit.
